Goal Setting Rocket

Goal Setting Rocket

This video combines the power of the space shuttle launch with JFK John Kennedy's inspiring speech about setting the goal to go to the moon and back safely by the end of the decade.

We do these things not because they are easy, but because they are hard.

Awesome!

New Age Abundance Teacher rips off my daughter. Sara Russell of sarandipity really pulled an ugly ripoff of my daughter, who created a custom wordpress site, no wait, 2 sites, for her and then stiffed her.http://sararussell.amplify.com/2010/12/16/sara-russell-of-sarandipity-and-feelthepossibilitiescom-kathy-vitcak-of-yoursoulcoachcom-are-criminals/I think that using the word criminals is a tad too strong for public use, but if you have ever done a whole bunch of work for a client who constantly made changes, then was interminably unhappy, then you know how it feels to get cheated out of being paid.If you do client work - and have ever wondered whether to "go public" about your experience (as you aren't going to really pursue suing someone in another state, you should read this article Rachael wrote. http://amplify.com/u/il8f

David Zucker Smacks a Stinging Satire of Ego-blather of Barbara Boxer

Amplify’d from latimesblogs.latimes.com

David Zucker's video satire of Barbara Boxer's 'Ma'am' demand: 'It's just a thing'

One of the sadnesses of American politics is that so much of the satire is aimed at only one side of the political spectrum, costing us nearly half the possible laughs.

There are conservatives in Hollywood. They just don't run the place. One of the comedic luminaries of modern time, however, is David Zucker of "Naked Gun," "Airplane," "Police Squad" and "Kentucky Fried Movie" fame.

Now, just in time for the Nov. 2 midterm elections involving California's own career pol, Democrat Sen. Barbara Boxer, Zucker has produced a satirical video currently making the Internet rounds. (See bottom video below)

First Penguin in the Water

Are you facing a tough decision - need courage - ready to back out quit and run? Consider the first penguin in the water...

First Penguin In The Water

I once saw this National Geographic program about penguins and how after sitting on the eggs for weeks without food they were relieved for egg-duty by their mate – and headed straight for the ocean.

But, they stopped short and crowded on the cliff overlooking the sea in fear that a walrus would be waiting below to eat them, until finally one unlucky guy got jostled in by the crowd.

The penguins peered down to see if he was okay – and if he swam around and started eating, in they’d go.

Somebody has to be first.

And, if the stakes are lower than being eaten, maybe this time it should be you?

Komodo Edit for Perl, Python, Tcl, PHP, Ruby, Javascript

Komodo Edit is a fast, smart, free and open-source code editor. Switching your trusty code editor is hard, but give Komodo Edit (or its big brother Komodo IDE) a try: it'll be worth your while.

Windows, Mac, Linux? Yes. PHP, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Perl, Tcl, XML, HTML 5, CSS 3? Yes, with (customizable) syntax coloring, folding, background syntax checking, and excellent auto-complete and calltips (we call it "code intelligence"). What else? Fast open (no more slow poking around for files); remote file editing; Vi keybindings (good ones); and a toolbox with shell command integration, macros and code snippets... all wrapped around a tricked-out editor and an extension mechanism the same as Firefox's.

Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here Video

In this letter to a missed friend the writer is not being critical or condescending but asking for commiseration around the way that any of us can sell out and then wake up one day with the reality we reap around the choices we've sown.

When you trade hot air for a cool breeze (this is not a free trade - you give something up to buy that sweet air conditioning) you surrender a little bit more of your freedom.

Did you take a "walk on part in the war" (small perhaps even symbolic participation) for a "lead role in a cage."

And you think of your friend, bright and brimming with potential, and you see how you've both been changed and find yourselves far away. And since you both know what it's like - you share this common experience and understanding - you wish they were here with you - to comfort each other and perhaps rally for the next change.

Rick Butts

So you think you can tell,

Heaven from hell,

Blue skies from pain.

Can you tell a green field

From a cold steel rail

A smile from a veil,

Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade,

Your heroes for guns,

Hot ashes for trees,

Hot air for a cool breeze,

Cold comfort for change,

Did you exchange,

A walk in part in the war,

For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish,

How I wish you were here.

We're just two lost ...souls swimming in a fish bowl,

Year after year.

Running over the same old ground,

Have you found,

The same old fears?

Wish you were here.

Geico Woodchucks Video Rocks

Do You Think Someone Blew It On This Domain Name?

This is a sign on the parking lot side of a building in Cherry Creek (Denver) Colorado. Cherry Creek is known for it's trendy restaurants, art shops, and plastic surgery.

Do you think they may have kind of fumbled on the domain name - or am I way too over-thinking this one?

Your opinion?

Live Blogging the Windows Phone 7 Launch

Microsoft is introducing its answer to Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android Monday, debuting phones that run on its Windows Phone 7 platform.

The new phones from manufacturers HTC, LG and Samsung will be sold beginning in November, the company announced Monday. The mobile move is important for Microsoft as it tries to catch up in the smartphone game, where it has admitted it has fallen behind. The company’s latest foray into smartphones, its Kin line, was abandoned after the phones had been on the market only a few weeks.

The software giant will discuss the availability of the phones and preview some of the features starting at 9:40 a.m. Eastern, and Digits will have a live blog.

Hey I have a Blogger Blog!

Einstein+Blackboard.jpgWhile downloading and using Picasa for Mac by Google - I was humored to find I had a blogger blog just lying fallow and waiting faithfully for my attention.

So after posting the nice little picture of Little Dog sleeping in the Uhaul - I'm posting this via the email posting option.

If you had any idea how thoroughly ironic this is you'd buy me the next drink to tell you the story.

Little Dog Sleepy Travel

You know how a baby falls asleep in the car seat, gently rocking out into oblivion to the hum of the motor and the sway of the car.

Well, Little Dog is a snooze queen. When she's not asleep in her giant fleece co-pilot seat she likes to ride in my lap where she can see over the dash.

Being 12" tall is not easy.

This was taken in the front seat (there is no back seat) of a Uhaul 10' truck driving the shrapnel of my personal possessions from Spokane Washington to Salt Lake City on an adventure in January 2009.
